Fall Mantle Decor Inspiration

Fall Mantle Decor Inspiration

Who's getting into the Fall decorating mode? The mantle is the main eye-catching piece of your living area, so we often make fall mantle decor a focal point. We're just starting to think about it as we finish up the last couple of weeks of summer. The weather has started to cool off in the evenings indicating that Fall is just around the corner. When we start to decorate for a season, we typically like to start with the front porch, but since our flowers are still looking too good to part with, we are choosing to ideate around decorating our mantle first. The mantle is a key focal point in our most lived in area of the house, and it makes perfect sense to incorporate a breath of Fall into that space.

If you have been hesitating to turn the page to Fall, here is a dose of fresh inspiration to help get you in the spirit. We've pulled together two different mantle inspiration ideas below. Kim tends to lean more into the traditional and trendy color schemes while Ashley loves the more modern, monochromatic black and white look.

TRADITIONAL FALL MANTLE DECOR

Turkey Stand | Fall Y’all Mini Signs | Tiered Tray | Grateful Sign | Pumpkin Twig Decor | Mum Buckets | Chalk Pumpkins

We like to start and work from top to bottom. Starting on the mantle itself, we pick a couple of larger focal pieces, like the tiered tray and grateful sign. Then, we start to fill in with the other smaller elements until we feel we have created a nice balance of varying heights and colors. We love the versatility that the tiered tray provides such as great height and shelves to allow us to work in a variety of smaller pumpkins, turkeys, signs, and floral picks. The only trick here is that you need to ensure the diameter of the tray is going to fit on your mantle, so plan wisely. The twig pumpkin is a fun way to bring in the natural elements of branches, harvest leaves and berries, and the buffalo check bow brings in a touch of farmhouse style. We are in love with these rich gold-stemmed, chalk pumpkins that come in on-trend deep moody matte colors, like an earthy green, golden harvest yellow, a deep rich orange and red, and even black. The wooden turkey brings the whimsical fun factor, along with some additional pops of trend colors and stands at a full 16" tall. He is so cute! To finish off this style, we added a couple of galvanized buckets of faux mums to each side of the hearth. Who says mums are only for decorating outside?! There is so much to love about these indoor mum arrangements. They are 17" tall and 18" in diameter, and they last year after year, which makes the investment well worth it!

MODERN MONOCHROMATIC FALL MANTLE DECOR

Sweater Resin Pumpkin | Fall Floral Vase |Pumpkin Truck Pic | Hello Autumn Round Sign | Orange Chalk Pumpkin | Black Candle Holders | Flameless Candles | Black Lantern

Again, working from top to bottom, we pick two or three statement pieces that are either sizeable or have great height. For this arrangement, we started off with a trio of black candle holders along with LED battery operated candles that include a timer. Just looking at this Pumpkin Patch Farm Truck picture makes us want to visit the pumpkin patch now and sip on some yummy spiced cider. To add some height to the right side of the mantle, this 17" tapered black matte lantern was just the perfect size. Now, to add in some texture, we worked in the cream-colored sweater resin pumpkin and the woven round Hello Autumn wall plaque. And, just because you can never have too many pumpkins in your décor, and because we are smitten with the gold-stemmed, chalk pumpkins, we couldn't resist finishing off the mantle with one of these in orange. Now, to frame the hearth, we recommend these eucalyptus and wheat floral arrangements in black ceramic vases that have a really nice textural element. Again, these are a bit of an investment, but they are 40" tall and you will have them to pull out year after year to enjoy!

We hope this gets you inspired to dive into your attic, storage room, storage closet or wherever you keep your seasonal décor and start styling your most lived in areas of your home. If you find you need to invest in a couple of fresh pieces for this upcoming season, we have provided links to all of the featured items under each conceptual image.

Autumn is a beautiful season of warm rich colors, scents of pumpkin spice, milder temperatures, and a perfect season for making memories with family. Our surroundings greatly influence setting the tone for our mood, so what are you waiting for?

Autumn, the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful!
