Our 5 Favorite Places to Eat in Cabo San Lucas

Our 5 Favorite Places to Eat in Cabo San Lucas

While you can certainly find an abundance of Mexican places to eat in Cabo San Lucas, we can vouch for the fact that there are other fabulous cuisine types in this tropical destination. We spent Spring Break in Cabo, and we were able to revisit some of our favorite restaurants from previous trips, as well as try out a few new gems that were highly recommended to us by friends. We know many resorts in this area provide all-inclusive packages, but we never commit to that in Cabo, because they truly have a wonderful restaurant offering and we love supporting their local businesses. Eating dinner out in Mexico is typically a full-on entertaining experience, and we hope you enjoy this virtual dining tour. We suspect your mouth will be watering by the time you reach the end of this article.

5 Favorite Places to Eat in Cabo San Lucas

Los Tres Gallos Mexican

This restaurant is our go-to for authentic delicious Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is so festive and colorful, complete with a phenomenal mariachi band that can sing/play almost anything. This is another open-air restaurant that has lighted colorful pennant banners strung all around like a canopy for the lower-level seating. We were seated upstairs with a great view down over the entire place. Our service and food were absolute perfection. The empanada appetizer was excellent and Kim's personal favorite dish of chicken mole enchiladas did not disappoint. The flan for dessert was visually beautiful and quite tasty as well.

The Office

No trip to Cabo would be complete without dinner at The Office. It is truly a special dining al fresco experience. We can't think of anything better than eating the best coconut shrimp in the world dunked in the accompanying pineapple chutney dipping sauce, wiggling our toes in the sand while dining, and staring out at the beautiful view of El Arco and the Sea of Cortez. It is delightful. Of course, the lobster and other traditional Mexican dishes were family approved as well, but Colt and Kim are adamant that coconut shrimp is the best dish at The Office restaurant, and the fact that it is served in a hollowed-out coconut shell surrounded by fuchsia flowers is a visual treat as well. We capped the night off with Mexican coffee and bananas foster prepared table side with all kinds of fire-filled theatrics.

Roasted Grill and Bar

Favorite places to eat in Cabo San Lucas

While Roasted does not come with a waterfront view, the art-deco-themed open-air ambiance and food more than make up for it. This was recommended to us by friends that visit Cabo San Lucas several times each year. The food is cooked on a mesquite wood-fired grill that is positioned for patrons to observe the chefs in action. We started our meal with the queso fundido appetizer, which was sinfully good. For our entrée, we opted for the Sea and Earth Special, which consisted of USDA ribeye, grilled lobster, and jumbo grilled shrimp for two. Wow! Just wow! Look at the amazing visual presentation of the platter that came out as our entrée. It was so deliciously good and Roasted will now be on our restaurant rotation for each visit to Cabo.

Pocho's Restaurant on the Cabo Marina

This small restaurant is tucked in along the restaurant row, along the marina. This seafood stop is ranked 4.5 out of 5 stars amongst the tourists so we had to give it a try. A few of the adults took a date night adventure and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible. We enjoyed the most delicious sushimi in all of Cabo, fresh Caesar salad made table-side by a sous chef, and freshly caught seafood served in a beautiful display. The service was impeccable and we enjoyed the nightlife along the marina while we enjoyed our dinner. It was relatively decent priced and we would certainly stop in here again for a nice dinner.

Tabasco's Beach Restaurant and Bar

Tabasco's is a casual beach restaurant that we frequent for breakfast and lunch.  It is conveniently located right on Medano Beach outside of the Pueblo Bonito Rose resort.  The Anchorman's favorite breakfast is Chilaquiles and he thinks Tabasco's has the best!  We may or may not recommend the Bloody Mary's here as well.  Three things you can count on at this restaurant:  delicious food, top notch service (look up our friend Rey ... he is so sweet with the grandkids), and laid back feet in the sand atmosphere.

Even if you don't have an upcoming trip planned to Cabo in the near future, I hope you enjoyed reading about all the delicious places we visited while we were there. When you do get a Cabo visited scheduled, be sure to come back and make a list of these places that you definitely want to put on your list.  And, if you have a Cabo restaurant recommendation, please share!  We will put it on our list for our next visit.
